Tonight the Winnipeg Jets will welcome the big bad Boston Bruins to the MTS Center. Michael Hutchinson will start again for the Jets in their last home game of the season and their second last game of the 2014 campaign.

Coming off a very dull game against the Minnesota Wild the Jets try for the victory against one of the league’s best. Boston recently lost in a shootout to Minnesota on Tuesday but is 16-1-3 in their last twenty games.

Even though our home crowd may be one of the loudest in the NHL, the Winnipeg Jets need to improve their home record next year. At just 17-17-6 the Jets rank just 23 in the league. Among the other problems the team needs to discuss in the off-season, certainly this is one worth talking about.

If there has been one positive for the home town team it would be Jacob Trouba. Last Saturday in Toronto, Trouba scored his 10th of the year and set a new franchise record for goals by a rookie defenceman.

Growing up watching the Canadiens with my Dad I have certainly grown a distaste for Boston. In 2011, the Vancouver Canucks were my hockey team and that has definitely added to my hatred for the Beantown Bruins.

Prediciton: I think Winnipeg will score first and keep this game close but Boston will win 3-2 because they are too strong to beat at this time of the year.

The Boston Bruins will attempt to make their fourth cup appearance in four years this spring.
