The Winnipeg Jets did some house keeping today, in giving qualifying offers to some but no all of their restricted free-agents. As expected top six forwards Andrew Ladd, Blake Wheeler received qualifying offers. Underachieving forward Rob Schremp did not receive an offer, making him an unrestricted free agent. It has not been announced as of yet if Zach Bogosian, Ben Maxwell or Anthony Stewart have been tendered an offer yet. Stewart on his twitter account said “U.F.A” making it sound like he’s not been qualified and thus a free agent.
In other league news, three notable names have not been qualified and are free agents as of July 1. Rangers Matt Gilroy, Flyers Daniel Carcillo and Pittsburgh’s Tyler Kennedy have all been set free. Toronto qualified 7, but did not offer contracts to Fabrian Brunstrom or Christian Hanson.
